The Church…The Hope of the World

In these sessions Rick will discuss how and why, despite its faults, the church of Jesus Christ is still the most significant concept ever created. Why it has been God’s chosen instrument of blessing and change for more than 2,000 years, surviving persistent abuse, horrifying persecution, and widespread neglect. Why as Christ’s followers we have the greatest responsibility, and highest honor of bringing people to Christ and into the membership of his family. How we can help develop people into mature disciples, empowering and equipping them for personal ministry and sending them out to fulfill their life mission and purpose on this earth.

Rick Warren

Founding pastor of Saddleback Church, and author of the international best-seller The Purpose Driven Life (2002), and The Purpose Driven Church (1995), which has been listed in the 100 Christian Books That Changed the Century. Warren also founded Pastors.com, an online community for pastors. In 2005, he launched The PEACE Plan, an endeavor to address and defeat poverty, sickness, illness, poverty and corrupt leadership in the world through the worldwide networking of local churches. During the 2008 presidential election, Warren hosted the Civil Forum on The Presidency featuring both John McCain and Barack Obama, a live national broadcast. Warren then gave the invocation at the Presidential inauguration on January 20, 2009.
