Who:
For the Kindergarten through Grade 5 children of Saddleback Church,
San Clemente.
What:
Kids Small Groups is the small group discipleship program for the children of Saddleback Church. There are two primary divisions: K to Grade 2 and Grades 3 to 5.
The curriculum for the Pre-K to Grade 2 students focuses on introducing students to a relationship with God and what it means to part of the church. The students learn about character traits as the Bible comes to life in their small group. They will build lasting relationships with their peers and leaders as they meet each week. Ultimately, their eyes will be opened to the amazing, limitless love that God has to offer them.
The curriculum for the Grades 3 to 5 students takes them around the bases as they embark on a children's version of CLASS. All students, regardless of age or grade, will begin in Children's 101 as they recognize and reflect upon their relationship with Jesus. Children's 201 challenges students to dig deeper in their faith through spiritual disciplines. Next, students will assess their own SHAPE and how God can use them to serve in ministry in Children's 301. Finally, the curriculum will come full circle in Children's 401 as the students are challenged to share Jesus through their testimonies, mission fair, and missions trips.
When:
Starting the week of September 19, Wednesdays 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Kids' Small Groups runs from September through June, in accordance with the children's school schedule.
Kid’s Small Groups DOES NOT take the place of a regular Saddleback Kids weekend service. Regular weekend attendance is required and expected.
Where:
Saddleback San Clemente Offices:
232 Avenida Fabricante, 101 San Clemente, CA 92672
Why:
Small groups are not just for adults, they are for children, too. Our hope is that children in Kids Small Groups can dig deeper into God's Word as a supplement or reinforcement to their regular weekend church attendance. The relationships that the children build in Kids Small Groups with their peers and leaders will truly last a lifetime. It is all about life change through lasting relationships.
How do I get my child involved?
Fill out a registration form (one per student, please) and return it with the full registration fee to the KSG table on the patio. If you have questions, please call Jenna at (949) 609-8478.
How does my child prepare for small groups each week?
In addition to regularly attending their small group, children are expected to complete their homework and memorize at least one Bible verse per week, with the help of a parent. Please set aside time each week to help your child with their homework.
KSG Philippines PEACE Project
Saddleback San Clemente Kid’s Small Groups has partnered with an orphanage in the Philippines that is desperately trying to feed their 60 children each month. In the Philippines, about $200 buys the orphanage a month’s supply of rice.
Our goal is to raise the $200.00 each month. With the help each of our 60+ children in Kid’s Small Groups collecting a small amount every month, we can help feed an entire orphanage of 60 children.
Through this KSG Missions Project , we will be putting P.E.A.C.E into action working with our Purpose Driven Ministry in the Philippines.
Something even more exciting is that we will be able to connect with the orphanage and the children this year on our Mission Trip to the Philippines!
