Welcome to Saddleback Kids San Clemente

Saddleback Kids is the name of our Children’s Ministry at Saddleback Church and is led by a team of staff and volunteers whose passion is children and whose vision is to “Connect Kids to God and to Others”! Our goal is to provide a fun and interactive programs tailored just for kids no matter what age and grade to help them know Jesus and grow spiritually as they build meaningful relationships with other children and adults!

Saddleback Kids provides Weekend Services for children at the same time as the Adult Worship Services. On Wednesday evenings during the school year, we also provide an opportunity for kids to grow in their faith by pre-registering for a Kids Small Group (KSG), our discipleship program for kids.

For more information about Saddleback Kids, please feel free to call Maranda Hill at 949-609-8235 or email Maranda at marandah@saddleback.com.

What To Expect

Our weekend services are designed with children in mind! Each child is taught in an age-appropriate environment. From Nursery to grade six our desire is to see each child be cared for in an individual way. Each of our Saddleback Kids leaders has been through an extensive orientation process and has been screened to work with your child. From loving care in the nursery to radical music in "The Extreme," your child will be cared for and taught God’s Word in a safe, loving and encouraging environment.

Birth through Age 3

Our weekend program for Saddleback Kids is designed to meet the developmental and spiritual needs of our children while providing a safe and playful environment.

Who will care for my child while I am in a Worship Service?

Each of our volunteers has completed a Saddleback Kids New Leader Orientation Class including age-level training, an understanding of our safety/security polices and a fingerprint background check. This process is to provide your child with the best possible care in a secure child-friendly environment.

Common Questions asked by parents visiting for the first time:

How do we check in our child?

At the time of check-in, a loving and trained volunteer leader will greet you. You will be asked to provide us with a cell phone number you have in your possession. In the event we need to contact you during service, we will send you a text message. (Remember to leave your cell phone on vibrate/silence during the service.) If your child cries, our caring volunteer leaders will immediately soothe your child. If your child cries for an extended period of ten minutes, we will text you.

You and your child will receive a check-in tag specific to your child. To ensure their security, your child will not be released without presentation of your corresponding tag.

What to Bring?

Please label all personal items with your child's first and last name before arriving at your child's class.

 1. For the safety of our children, all children must be wearing shoes to enter our program.

2. A diaper or pull up for your child. Only adult female volunteer leaders are permitted to help your child with their bathroom needs.

3. A complete change of clothes if “potty training.” Restrooms are available in each room.

4. A sweater or jacket in cool weather. We often take children to the playground.

What will my child do during a Worship Service?

Our weekend program is organized into the following structure: Play Time/Learning Centers, Sing-a-Long, Bible Story and Verse, Craft and Snack. Your child will be on a rotation schedule to use the outdoor playground for their enjoyment.

What snacks are available for my child?

Snacks are provided for your child. Our snack consists of “Nilla Wafers” and water to drink. Please inform the leader if your child has an allergy. Please do not bring treats or drinks from home. We are peanut-free during our children's service times.

What is the Saddleback Kids well-child policy?

We operate a well-child program. For the protection of all the children in our ministry, we cannot accept a child with a runny nose, fresh cold (four days or less), fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea or any other signs of illness. We request that you not place your child in the program while they are at risk of exposing other children. Thank you in advance for helping us to keep our Saddleback Kids program a healthy place!

Welcome to Saddleback Kids & “The Extreme”!

Grades 2 through Grade 5

The Extreme is an awesome place for your child to hang out with us during a Weekend Service! They will have the opportunity to play video games board games and meet new friends.

More importantly, kids will learn truths from the Bible presented in a relevant way that address kid issues and how they are living today! With energetic and interactive worship led by peer worship leaders, your child will have a blast in the Extreme! Our prayer is that they will not only want to come back each week, but that they will want to bring their friends!

When entering the classroom, your child will connect with a friendly and fun volunteer leader! They will be checked into our computer system and given a name tag for personal identification. The parent/adult checking a child into the classroom will also be given an identification label necessary to present at the close of the service to release the child. For the safety of our children, an adult MUST check-in and check-out children.
