In Luke 7, a woman of ill repute came to a Pharisee’s home where Jesus was eating dinner. She stood behind Jesus and wept, wetting his feet with her tears, drying them with her hair, and anointing them with perfume. The Pharisee was scandalized. He could only see the woman for who she had been. But Jesus saw her for who she could become.
