Saddleback is looking for young people who want to refine their skills in their chosen field and contribute to the work of the church. The Saddleback staff has a team of highly experienced, highly talented staff who desire to take skilled students and challenge them to become the best in their field.

Whether you design a logo for a website, edit a video to be played during a weekend service, or write a press release, you will gain meaningful experience in both your specialty and ministry that will aid you wherever you choose to go next.

Here are your options as a Specialty Intern:

  • Video and Film Editing
    • Shoot video using various HD/SD formats
    • Assist with studio and location lighting
    • Capture interviews for news stories and sermon support
    • Help maintain and catalog footage for video library
    • Edit using FCP; convert and compress footage for use on web
    • Act as a liaison between video volunteer ministry
    • Some travel to filming locations may be required
  • Graphic/Print Design
    • Design everything from T-shirts, brochures, banners, to stage graphics
    • Train ministry leaders to use graphics in their communication pieces
    • Establish branding strategies and keep our ministry brand assets up-to-date and available
  • Web Design
    • Train staff and volunteers to manage their website content
    • Bulk email design and production
    • General graphic and textual site updates
    • Site template design; HTML, CSS and JavaScript development
    • Facebook page design and social media integration
    • Logo design and branding
    • Tool development, including blogs and media center creation
  • Social Media
    • Help execute Saddleback Church’s Social Media Ministry vision
    • Moderate Saddleback fan pages
    • Recruit volunteers for Internet Campus and Social Media
    • Train/equip volunteers for their service in the respective ministries 
    • Communicate with volunteers of Internet Campus and Social Media ministries
    • Make videos for Facebook page to promote special events
    • Create content for live updates for Saddleback conferences on campus
  • Marketing
    • Participate in Saddleback's marketing strategy
    • Aid in marketing for weekend messages, message series, special events, and campaigns
    • Communications Ministry support
  • Editorial/Writing
    • Proof/fact-check Slice online newsletter
    • Edit brochure content and proof content
    • Conduct interviews and writing spotlights on Saddleback volunteers
    • Travel to Saddleback events, taking notes, conducting interviews, and putting together short, concise write-ups
  • Journalism/Public Relations
    • Write and publish stories on Saddleback events and newsworthy happenings
    • Interact with various media sources to communicate Saddleback’s message
    • Engage with the Saddleback public relations team
  • Radio
    • Create station ID’s, commercials, sweepers, and PSA’s
    • Select and categorize station's music
    • Track and manage all programming content submissions, including programming management
    • Promote and create buzz about station
  • Community Projects
    • Assess community needs
    • Build strategic partnerships
    • Cultivate community projects
    • Mobilize/mentor volunteers
    • Multiply leaders
    • Measure effectiveness
  • Accounting
    • Conduct specific financial projects
    • Project church-wide and specific budgets
    • Present and explain financial statements

    • Mobilize, recruit, and train volunteers in orphan care
    • Develop tools for other churches in orphan care
    • Care for families considering adoption
    • Help in orphan sponsorship and other cross-cultural activities                  
  • HIV/AIDS Initiative 
      • Support and facilitate achievement of the End State Goals
      • Assist in creating scalable, reproducible models with the HIV/AIDS Initiative
      • Help align partners' vision for implementing HIV/AIDS Initiative
