We took 339 people to Compton on Saturday, February 28th and were joined by approximately another 900 from the local churches for the “Workday in Compton”! In just a little over four hours, 21 homes and 5 buildings at an elementary school were painted. One of the policemen assigned to the school for the day said that he was amazed by the love of everyone involved. He said if every community did this, the world would be changed. The principal of the school said that the local school district is much more open to churches partnering with them since the churches have been loving them by helping to paint. I talked to one of the home owners who was overwhelmed. Her house was in disrepair, and she didn’t know what to do until someone showed up on her doorstep one day and asked to paint her house. Don’t forget to sign up for the next “Workday in Compton” on Saturday April 25th. We'll have a table set up outside the theater doors in the Refinery soon. Everyone is making a difference!
Blessings,
