It was yet another wonderful evening at Fuse. Aside from the ribs running out shortly after the 6:30 service (got to get in there early), everything went great! Pastor Doug's message was simulcasted from the Refinery to the main worship center. Lucky us! And Doug's message really struck home. He discussed one of the most important things about love and relationships, and that was sacrifice. I think a lot of us struggle with that aspect in love. How often do we sacrifice our time, our agenda, our pride, for the people we love? He went over how we often play it safe rather than sacrifice and that fear is one of the main reasons that keep us from sacrificing. He also challenged us to sacrifice this week by having conversations with the people we love or the people around us. We are to dig deep and remember to not quickly move the conversation to us. I know this might be hard, but we can practice. If you catch yourself having changed the conversation to yourself, quickly turn it back to them and really listen in to what they have to say. I'm excited to deepen my relationships this week through sacrifice and through the conversations! I hope you are too! Here's a quote from Tom Holliday's Relationship Principles of Jesus: "True Love sacrifices. The greatest sacrifices may not be the one-in-a-lifetime sacrifices; they may well be the daily sacrifices. You give up your way and seek another person's good. No one else may even know you did it, but you'll know you acted in response to Jesus' love for you." Also, please remember to keep the Warren family in your prayers!
