We will supplement our existing central plant to accommodate our new buildings as well as future buildings. The Central Plant houses the equipment necessary to chill water for the air conditioning needs of the entire campus. A new 1.4 million gallon water storage tank will allow us to chill the water at night when electricity rates are low and distribute the chilled water to the buildings during the day, resulting in significant cost savings on utilities in the years ahead. Locating all the chillers and pumps in one location will also save maintenance costs.
