“Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there with a withered hand. And they watched Jesus, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him. And he said to the man with the withered hand, "Come here." And he said to them, "Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?" But they were silent. And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.” Mark 3:1-5

Pastor Buddy Owens this weekend talked about “A New Defining Moment for Your Life”. The goal of the message was for each person to realize you need to take a step towards Jesus. Some people need to know who Jesus is. Other people actually need to start living a life for Jesus and not for themselves.

The book of Mark was written to illustrate who Jesus is and how you should live your life for God. Mark 3:1-5 is specifically about a man who is physically sick, needs help, and is looking towards Jesus for restoration. The man takes a step towards Jesus and Jesus honors his commitment. This story in Mark shows Jesus is the way we find help. We may not experience physical healing like in Mark 3:1-5 always, but you will be doing what God desires for you. Obeying God’s will leads to true freedom.

What is your next step towards Jesus?
