Fighting addictions is not easy. The battle at times does not seem winnable. Ephesians 6:10-20
talks about the real battle is not only physical, but spiritual (read Be Ready for an Attack
). I want challenge our online community to believe in the power of God's Word as Pastor Rick has been talking about in this current series (watch the series now
Truths to hold on to during the battle:
1. You are loved. If you believe in God you can have confidence you are his child through Jesus (Don't Know God?
2. You have the resource. Galatians 5:16-25
talks about the power of Holy Spirit is present to help combat your addictions.
3. You are not alone. The early church is a perfect example of fighting battles with others. You need to be in an Online Small Group
4. You need to connect with God. Ephesians 6:17
talks about the "sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God' as being a tool we use to fight battles. Daily find time to connect with God through talking with him and reading the Bible.
I know addictions are tough. I know addictions do not go away always at once. You need to make sure you are not alone in your addictions. You need people to help keep you accountable and keep you encouraged. Get intp an Online Group
