refuel

The first week of the REFUEL series was really great for me personally.

Doug Fields has been a good buddy of mine for a very long time, so it was really cool to be a cheerleader for my friend. Doug has put a lot of work into this series, and it’s cool to see it get started.

It was also good to listen to the message and let God’s Word soak into my heart. When I’m on empty, the two things I lose first are humility and patience. When I’m disconnected from God, I get more selfish and I anger more easily. Not a pretty picture.

I was encouraged and challenged to find the smaller, shorter, more natural connections during the day. To find some “triggers” to remind me of God and his goodness. My life has never been more busy...we have five kids in our family, all are under the age of seven and three are under 20 months! Lots of diapers and bottles and crying.

I’m in a season of life that’s totally different than anything I’ve experienced. It’s important for me to find new ways to take care of my soul, that is, to connect with God and let him care for me.

Looking forward to weeks two and three!
