Humility is a tough thing for me, particularly when it comes to the people I love the most. After an argument with my wife, saying "I am sorry, I was only thinking of myself" does not comes naturally or easily. Pastor Rick suggests the "I'm sorry" approach in his June 16th message in the Crazy Maker series. It was also included in the Talk it Over sermon discussion guide.
Talk it Over is a new resource designed to be used with small groups. The study guide consists of a 10 to 15 minute video which is a shortened version of the current week's sermon. This video is online so it can be shown to a group on a television using a computer with an internet connection. There is a study guide that goes with each lesson, containing three or four questions for group discussion.
We won't remember much of a sermon unless we go back and study that sermon, thinking about it, writing notes down, and talking it over with friends. Using the Talk it Over study guide in a small group is a excellent way of reinforcing the weekly sermon. The study guides are available soon after the sermon is done, so you can use the Talk it Over the same week as the sermon is given. Using Talk it Over also takes the hassle out of choosing what to study next in your small group.
I hope and pray you give Talk it Over a try.
