Whether we realize it or not we all long for our "true home"...a place where pain, suffering, sorrow, disease, sickness and sin don’t plague us. When Jesus walked the earth he ushered in the start of this new era. He taught that we could experience now some of ... what we will one day experience fully in eternity.
One way this showed up in Jesus’ life was through the many healings he performed. Countless bodies, minds and hearts were restored as he traveled the land encountering people. But what about now? Is healing for today? Is that something we can ask, expect or even demand of God in the present age. Some say people aren’t healed because they didn’t really believe God could heal them. Others say that healing ended shortly after Jesus’ closest followers died. Still others claim healing comes through special prayers, prayed by special people gifted to bring healing.
