We have an awesome serving opportunity with our GRIP kids! GRIP stands for Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership. We partner with the District Attorney’s office, the Sheriff’s Department, and the school districts to help keep kids OUT of gangs. Gangsters all over Orange County are targeting 4th to 8th graders. The threat of falling into a gang lifestyle is real--for elementary-age kids. The GRIP program gives these kids goals so they can focus on positive behavior and influences and EARN some sort of incentive.
The latest GRIP incentive is an AWESOME 3-day Soccer Camp put on by the Sheriff’s department over Capo spring break, April 9, 10, and 11. There are about 50 kids who have earned this fun week.
GRIP would love to extend the opportunity to us to be involved in this amazing event! You can serve a day, all days, or any portion of any day. One of the volunteer roles is being a greeter in the mornings to welcome the kids and their families. E-mail TylerS@saddleback.com for more information about serving.
