PEACE SCAFFOLDING

PEACE Scaffolding is a program for Saddleback members who want to use their skills and talents to aid the 12-city international church plants. Members of this program will spend 90-120 days assisting Saddleback staff in a variety of needed areas to start Saddleback churches around the world as the first step toward reaching the 3,800 unengaged people groups of the world.

WHERE ARE WE GOING?

The first step to reaching the 3,800 unengaged people groups is to plant bases in key international cities. We have identified 12 such cities in which we will plant Saddleback Churches. They are the following:

  1. Mexico City, Mexico
  2. Buenos Aires, Argentina
  3. London, England
  4. Berlin, Germany
  5. Moscow, Russia
  6. Freetown, Sierra Leone
  7. Johannesburg, South Africa
  8. Amman, Jordan
  9. Bangalore, India
  10. Hong Kong, PRC
  11. Manila, Philippines
  12. Tokyo, Japan

WHAT WILL THE SCAFFOLDING MEMBERS DO?

Scaffolding members will be full-time ministers, who are aiding the Saddleback staff to establish these churches, train other local churches, and minister to the local population. Scaffolding members will be involved in a variety of activities, depending on the needs on the ground in each of the cities. Therefore, we are looking for flexible people with hearts for serving wherever needed.

WHEN ARE THE TEAMS GOING?

Teams to each city will be sent by September 1, 2012. However, some cities (maybe all) might have earlier teams leaving July 1, 2012.

WHAT PREPARATION WILL I NEED?

Saddleback Church will not send you there alone or without help. In preparation for Scaffolding service, we will help you learn and develop the skills necessarily to minister effectively in cross-cultural situations. The preparation process is done through twice monthly meetings (usually on Saturdays) and is mandatory.

HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAM?

The program lasts for 90 – 120 days, with a possible renewal for longer terms.
