Saddleback Church is looking for college students or recent graduates who want the unique opportunity to become part of one of the most exciting, dynamic ministries today. What kind of internship opportunities are there?
- Areas of Internships
With this internship, you will receive hands-on experience within a specific field of your choice. You will take the skills you already have in your area and develop and refine them. You will be given projects, short-term assignments, and opportunities to help in developing programs, gaining experience while being challenged and cared for by the Saddleback staff. Options you may choose for specializing include:

- Video and Film Editing
- Shoot video using various HD/SD formats
- Assist with studio and location lighting
- Capture interviews for news stories and sermon support
- Help maintain and catalog footage for video library
- Edit using FCP; convert and compress footage for use on web
- Act as a liaison between video volunteer ministry
- Some travel to filming locations may be required

- Utilize HTML and CSS
- iPhone/Android development

- Design everything from T-shirts, brochures, banners, to stage graphics
- Train ministry leaders to use graphics in their communication pieces
- Establish branding strategies and keep our ministry brand assets up-to-date and available

- Train staff and volunteers to manage their website content
- Bulk email design and production
- General graphic and textual site updates
- Site template design; HTML, CSS and JavaScript development
- Facebook page design and social media integration
- Logo design and branding
- Tool development including blogs and media center creation

- Provide support to on-going local, national, and global ministries
- Help to train members and volunteers on effective missions efforts
- Contribute to global strategy of our PEACE team
- Assist with website support, event support, and coordination among departments

- Create station ID’s, commercials, sweepers, and PSA’s
- Select and categorize station's music
- Track and manage all programming content submissions, including programming management
- Promote and create buzz about station

- Conduct specific financial projects
- Project church-wide and specific budgets
- Present and explain financial statements

- Mobilize, recruit, and train volunteers in orphan care
- Develop tools for other churches in orphan care
- Care for families considering adoption
- Help in orphan sponsorship and other cross-cultural activities

- Participate in Saddleback's marketing strategy
- Aid in marketing for weekend messages, message series, special events, and campaigns
- Communications Ministry support

- Connect with community leaders
- Help coordinate curriculum for small groups
- Encourage and empower small group leaders
- Lead small group events

- Proof/fact-check Slice online newsletter
- Edit brochure content and proof content
- Conduct interviews and writing spotlights on Saddleback volunteers
- Travel to Saddleback events, taking notes, conducting interviews, and putting together short, concise write-ups

- Write and publish stories on Saddleback events and newsworthy happenings
- Interact with various media sources to communicate Saddleback’s message
- Engage with the Saddleback public relations team

- Manage multiple weekly projects and special events
- Support the development of weekly worship services and other designated events
- Provide care and support to various volunteer ministries
- Learn how to develop volunteer teams
- Develop and enhance worship skills (if you are seeking to become a worship leader)

- Support and facilitate achievement of the End State Goals
- Assist in creating scalable, reproducible models with the HIV/AIDS Initiative
- Help align partners' vision for implementing HIV/AIDS Initiative
- Provide support to the Global Pastor

- Work closely with Saddleback Kids staff to support the development of weekly children’s services at Lake Forest and/or at Regional Campuses
- Enlist, equip, and empower quality adult, student, and youth volunteer leaders
- Support Saddleback Kids special events
- Relate directly with Saddleback Kids staff, volunteer coaches, volunteer leaders, and parents
- Develop and enhance personal leadership skills and learn how to develop volunteer teams

- Utilize social media to recruit volunteers
- Create marketing pieces to increase participation from young members (20s and 30s)
- Support, engage, and encourage volunteers
- Follow-up on ministry efforts in all forms of communication
Length of Internship
- 4 months for a minimum of 15 hours per week
- Summer (May - August), Fall (September - December), or Spring (January - April)

Ideal Candidate
- Committed Christian desiring to observe and contribute to the work of the church
- Prior experience or skills in chosen specialty
- Currently working towards a Bachelors degree or hold a Bachelors degree
- Willing to take on responsibility and work with a team
- Highly motivated and efficient
- Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Available to work at minimum 15 hours per week
